Seller: Anybook Ltd Published: A six volume set, first four volumes published , last two volumes Uniform full green grained leather binding, all edges gilt, marbled eps, different engraved frontis in each volume, 24mos. Gift inscription in v. I, "presented to Louisa Sarah Hall Harvey by her affectionate friend and cousin Robert John Bell " in ink on second blank flyleaf; other volumes all have Louisa's name and "Darley Abbey " on first blank flyleaves Darley Abbey was originally an Augustinean priory established in and is now a small village on the outskirts of Derby, England, located on the River Derwent.
Overall, good condition joints all torn or starting; boards bowed; corners bumped and worn; edges and spine ends worn; darkening and tears to leather on spines; gift inscription and prev. I: front board loose, chip to leather on spine and rear board.
II and III: chip to title piece on spines. V: front joint torn to point the front hinge is revealed, front board still attached; lightly foxed. VI is in FAIR condition only: front board and pages from ffep to last contents page detached, front joint was unsuccessfully repaired with green Japanese paper; water stains to side edge of page along hinge from ffep to contents; smudge top left corner of front cover; chip to spine head.
FP New Rockville Stock. Dearborn, Set of six volumes, purple-brown embossed cloth, very light wear to tips, very tiny tears with wear at spine edges, gilt dull on spines, foxing throughout. Near Good Set. The works of Lord Byron: in six volumes complete with a frontespiece to each volume. A very good early set of Byron in the original binders cloth - with original paper labels to each spine. The bindings are sound and the pages clean and tight but with light age spots on age edges.
First Edition. Undated but the frontispiece portrait of Byron has Probably the reprint of the works including the suppressed poems which was originally published in Black leather spine and corners. Spine has five raised bands and gilt lettering and decoration. Some spotting, particulary on the first few pages becoming lighter as the book progresses. Seller: zarak books Condition: Good. Good set of 5 hardcovers no DJs. Very nice for age. Marbled boards and edges. Bindings are tight, front hinges cracked. Previous owner's name on end papers, pages are otherwise clean, crisp and unmarked.

Light scattered foxing throughout. Title page has steel engraving of sailing ship as centerpiece vignette. Spine is worn and rubbed as are corners. Text complete and Good reading copy.

A lovely period edition of Byrons works with double-columned pages and bright yellow endpapers.

Binding is tight, Hinges strong. Covers are rubbed. John Murray, London, A mild-mannered copy. Previous owner signature on the title page Susan Drewe Sepr. The boards are much worn, scuffed, rubbed, marked from handling all about. They are gratifyingly vintage in aspect and feel. They are steady and sure. The end papers and early and later pages have foxing and other age-related marks. The engraving plates have foxing. The text pages are pleasingly clean, clear, amiable, certain, benevolent, tidy, eager.
Bound in full tan calf, gilt, with gilt decorations to boards, raised bands to spine, contrasting labels pieces. All edges gilt. Damage to foot of spine has been repaired.
